Insurers asked to look for comprehensive data

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Pronab Sen, Chief Statistician and Secretary, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, has asked insurers not to limit themselves to available data while measuring risk but look for information that existed outside of economic and social spheres for a realistic assessment.

Convocation

Delivering his address at the third convocation of the Institute of Insurance and Risk Management (IIRM) here on Friday, Mr. Sen insisted that risks were embedded in larger economic and social spheres. Mr. Sen said data was crucial to measure risk which was definable. He called for a close coordination between insurers and data producers. J.
