Special train service
Southern Railway will operate a special train from Tiruchi to Chennai Egmore on August 24, to clear the extra rush in connection with the Velankanni Arokiamatha annual festival. Train No. 0630 Tiruchi - Chennai Egmore special train will leave Tiruchi at 11.15 p.m. on Sunday and arrive in Chennai Egmore at 8.50 a.m. The train will stop at Srirangam, Lalgudi, Ariyalur, Vriddhachalam, Villupuram, Tindivanam, Melmaruvathur, Chengalpattu, Tambaram and Mambalam. The train will have one AC 2-tier, one AC 3-tier, eight sleeper class, eight general second class and two luggage-cum-second class coaches, a Southern Railway press release said.
