Open more CNG stations in Delhi, says Mukhi

Staff Reporter

To reduce waiting time for vehicles

‘A large number of private vehicle owners have got CNG kits fitted’

NEW DELHI: With long queues of vehicles being seeing outside CNG filling stations across Delhi, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Jagdish Mukhi has written to Petroleum Minister Murli Deora urging him to open the more stations in Delhi and the National Capital Region.

Stating that due to the increase in the price of petrol, a large number of private vehicle owners have got CNG kits fitted in their vehicles, he said this has led to a major demand-supply mismatch as already a large number of commercial vehicle including buses, taxis, three-wheelers and light goods had converted to the CNG mode as per the policy of the Delhi Government.

With the waiting time at the CNG stations being anywhere between two to three hours, Prof. Mukhi said there was an urgent need to increase the number of stations. He cautioned that the patience of the people is wearing thin and there was need for urgent action in the matter.
