8 arrested, weapons seized

THENI: Eight persons were arrested on Friday for being in possession of country-made weapons without permission.

Seven country-made guns, five revolvers and five bullets were seized from them during raids in Cumbum, Bodi, Thevaram and Goodalur areas of Theni district, according to Amaresh Pujari, DIG (Dindigul Range). Investigation is on to find out whether they had supplied arms to Maoists, Mr. Pujari said. — Staff Reporter
