Atram’s bail plea rejected again
Staff Reporter
Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Friday rejected the anticipatory bail application of the former Maharashtra Minister of State for Transport and Tribal Development, Dharmaraobaba Atram. He is accused of hunting chinkaras in Bhor taluk of Pune district.
But judge V.K. Tahilramani granted his request for six days’ time to surrender. Mr. Atram should turn himself in before the sub-divisional forest officer of Bhor between 2 and 3 p.m. on August 28.
Mr. Atram was accused of killing two chinkaras, violating wildlife and forest laws. The incident was reported on June 16, 2008, two days after the killing. This is his second bail application.
