Manipal: Travelling Film South Asia (TFSA)-2008, a film festival that showcases outstanding documentaries from the South Asian region, will be held at Dr. T.M.A. Pai Planetarium Complex here from August 24 to 28. Kaleidoscopic viewA press release issued by the Manipal Film Study Centre on Thursday stated that 12 productions providing a kaleidoscopic view of the subcontinent would be screened during the festival. The 12 documentaries were chosen from among 48 documentaries produced in the last two years and screened in the competitive section of Film South Asia 2007 held at Kathmandu. A three-member jury, chaired by Mumbai-based film-maker Saeed Mirza, selected the 12 films. The documentaries to be screened during TFSA-2008 are: Babba Hun Kee Kariye (India) at 11 a.m., The Mis-education of Pakistan (Pakistan) 2 p.m., Motherland Afghanistan (Afghanistan) 2.45 p.m., Forgive! Forget Not! (Nepal) 4.30 p.m. and A Life with Slate (Nepal) 7 p.m. on August 24; Six Yards to Democracy (India) 5.30 p.m. and Iron Eaters (Bangladesh) 6.45 p.m. August 25; From Dust (Sri Lanka) 5.30 p.m. and The Sky Below (India/Pakistan) 7 p.m. August 26; Remembrance of Things Present (India) 5.30 p.m. and Every Good Marriage Begins With Tears (UK/Ban) 7.15 p.m. August 27; and Living Goddess (Nepal) 5.30 p.m. August 28. As the TFSA is a non-commercial organisation, entry for these documentaries is free, according to the release.
