Orthopaedic association meet under way

PUDUCHERRY: The seventh annual conference of the Orthopaedic Association of South Indian States (OASISCON-2008) was inaugurated on Friday. The conference is being held in association with the Pondicherry Orthopaedic Association till Sunday.

According to a release, a continuing medical education programme and a workshop were organised on the first day of the conference. Live surgeries of knee, hip, cervical disc replacements and endoscopic spine surgery were demonstrated. Dean of Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute D.R. Gunasekaran, organising chairman James J. Gnanadoss and president of OASISCON 2008 Sudhakar Shetty were present.
