Two employees attacked

BELLARY: Two employees of the Tungabhadra Board suffered severe injuries after being attacked by three persons from Bommanahal village in Bellary taluk on Saturday.

Seemant Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police, told The Hindu that the two employees, Ramanjaneyalu, senior works inspector and Jaffersab Lashkar, who were on regular inspection of the low-level main canal on the right bank of the Tungabhadra reservoir, saw water being siphoned off using pipes, and asked farmers to remove them. After a heated argument, the three persons attacked them with sticks. As a result, Mr. Ramanjaneyalu suffered head injuries and Mr. Lashkar was also injured. The Moka police have registered a case.
