Special Correspondent

Eatala Rajender

HYDERABAD: Kamalapur MLA Eatala Rajender has been appointed leader of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) legislature party ahead of the monsoon session of Assembly beginning on Monday.

He comes in the place of G. Vijayarama Rao who was defeated in the by-elections two months ago from Station Ghanpur segment in Warangal. Mr. Rajender was the president of Karimnagar district unit of TRS until the their abolition the by-elections.

Mr. Rajender was nominated as the leader by TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao at the legislature party meeting presided by the latter on Saturday. Mr. Rao also named K. Nagesh (Alair) and K. Pratap Reddy (Cherial) as deputy leaders, V. Laxmikantha Rao (Huzurabad) as whip and Koppula Easwar (Maidaram) as secretary of the legislature party.

Briefing reporters later, Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao said, it was decided that the party would confront the State government in the Assembly on the fertilizer shortage and lathicharge against agitating farmers. The TRS would also expose how the government turned the implementation of G.O. 610 into a farce. The government claimed to have issued orders repatriating 18,000 employees as part of implementation of the G.O. but there was no word from it about how the vacancies were proposed to be filled up. He added that the TRS would also focus on crop damage in Telangana in the recent rain.
