Rice sale counters set up

Srikakulam: As part of the government’s measures to check inflation and rising prices of essential commodities, counters were set up at the local rythu bazaar on Saturday to make available rice at subsidised rate.
District Public Relations Officer Ramesh inaugurated the counters. As many as 51 sales counters were set up in the district at rythu bazaars. Of them, 39 were in mandal headquarters and 12 in municipal towns in the district.
All pink and white card- holders stand to benefit. Each card-holder would be give 5 kg of superfine rice at Rs.18 a kg.
Fine rice and common rice would be sold at for Rs.16 and Rs.14 respectively.
