Senthil scalps seven, including a hat-trick

TIRUCHI: S. Senthil Kumar’s seven-wicket haul, including a hat trick, was the highlight of Kancheepuram’s two-wicket win over Tuticorin in a first round encounter of the Tiruchi DCA Golden Jubilee inter-district T20 cricket tournament here on Saturday.

The scores:

Tuticorin 111 in 19.5 overs (K. Sivakumar 28, S. Senthil Kumar seven for 16 (incl. a hat-trick), ) lost to Kancheepuram 114 for eight in 19.4 overs (James Raj four for 10).

Tiruchi 146 for five in 20 overs (M. Prithviraj 77 not out, R. Manivannan three for 18) bt Kanyakumari 144 for nine in 20 overs (W. Antonydhas 66).

Tiruvannamalai 100 in 18 overs (Nawaz 28, Arun Nair three for 16 ) lost to Nilgris 101 for five in 12.4 overs (Arun Nair 26 not out).

Vellore 133 in 19.5 overs (Ramesh 39, Pradeep three for 20) lost to Tirunelveli 134 for six in 19.4 overs (Nataraj Shankar 38 not out ).

Salem 177 for seven in 20 overs (Thangadurai 62, Parthasarathy 30, Jayashankar four for 31) bt Madurai 122 in 17.2 overs (Petson Mathew 33, Devendran three for 26, Dushyanth three for 30).

Virudunagar 80 in 16.5 overs (Parthiban four for six, Sivaraj four for 20) lost to Puducherry 83 for three in 9.1 overs (Raja 42 ).

Perambalur 115 for nine in 20 overs (Idayatullah 35, Ganesh 25, Kumaravel three for 20 ) lost to Karur 116 for five in 17.3 overs (Chandrasekar 27, Karthik 25 not out ).

Sivaganga 150 in 20 overs (Pandian 39, Sivakumar 36, Sasikumar three for 29 ) bt Tiruvarur 117 in 19 overs (Silambarasan 28, Ramachandran three for 17 ). Villupuram 67 in 17.2 overs (S. Sunil Sam three for 18, K.N. Soundaramani four for 11, R. Venkatesh three for 17) lost to Coimbatore 70 for one in 7.1 overs (Huzeefa Patel 28 not out).

Dharmapuri 151 in 20 overs (Ramanayagam 27, Senthil Kumar 25, C. Senthilnathan 30 not out) bt Pudukottai 110 for nine in 20 overs (Arunvatsan 29 ).

Ramanathapuram 118 in 19.4 overs (Saravanan 73, Ramajeyam three for 15 ) lost to Krishnagiri 119 for four in 17.2 overs (Sengodan 37, Sathish 33 not out, Kumaresan 26 not out).
