Ernakulam enters final

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Host Thiruvananthapuram will take on Ernakulam in the men’s final of the State cycle polo championships. In the semifinal at the Mar Ivanios College ground, Thiruvananthapuram crushed Idukki 11-3 while Ernakulam cruised to a 12-2 win over Idukki.

In the women’s section, Thiruvananthapuram will take on Alappuzha in the final. In the semifinal, Thiruvananthapuram defeated Idukki 6-2 while Alappuzha edged out Idukki 5-4.

The results (semifinals):

Men: Thiruvananthapuram bt Idukki 11-3; Ernakulam bt Alappuzha 12-2; Junior boys: Thiruvananthapuram bt Alappuzha 10-3; Idukki bt Ernakulam 7-4; Sub-juniors: Thiruvananthapuram bt Ernakulam 11-3; Alappuzha bt Idukki 11-0.

Women: Alappuzha bt Idukki 5-4; Thiruvananthapuram bt Pathanamthitta 6-2; Junior girls: Alappuzha bt Kozhikode 5-1; Thiruvananthapuarm bt Pathanamthitta 4-1; Sub-juniors: Alappuzha bt Kozhikode 9-5. Thiruvananthapuram bt Pathanamthitta 5-0. — Principal Correspondent
