KOCHI: Ernakulam’s second-seeded P.S. Linimol surprised top-seeded Daya Elsa Jacob and won the under-19 girls’ title in the BPCL Kochi Refinery all-Kerala Open junior badminton tournament at the Kochi Refinery Stadium on Saturday. Kiran George, also from Ernakulam, won the u-10 boys’ title but Pranav Satheesh rashed out, losing to Sharon Raphael in the u-16 boys’ semifinals. The results: Boys: U-10 singles final: Kiran George (Ekm) bt Evaan John Abraham (Ekm) 25-23, 20-22, 21-19. U-13 singles semifinals: M.R. Arjun (Ekm) bt Aswin Satheeshan (Kzd) 21-10, 24-22; Aarush Setia (Ekm) bt Febin Dileep (Ktm) 21-14, 21-16. Doubles final: M.R. Arjun / Rohith Victor bt Viyola Kuruvath / Aarush Setia 21-18, 21-7.
