Three held for misusing credit cards

NEW DELHI: Three persons have been arrested by the Outer Delhi police for their alleged involvement in several cases of cheating through credit cards.

According to the police, a young man posing as a private bank agent came to the house of retired Environment and Forest Ministry director H.L. Atri in April after he had applied to the bank for surrendering his credit card.

A few days later, three young men made a purchase of Rs.15,000 from a jewellery shop in Karol Bagh through the same surrendered card.

On the basis of the complaint, the police arrested Nishant Goyal, Dev Aggarwal and Ashish Katyan.

Nishant, a Bachelor of Information Technology degree holder, works as agency manager for a private company working for the bank.

Taking advantage of his position, Nishant would collect credit cards from those consumers who wanted to surrender it. And instead of blocking the card, he along with his accomplices used the credit card for making purchase, the police charged.
