45 persons complain of blurred vision

VILLUPURAM: In all, 45 persons, including 26 men and 19 women, of Kaduvanur in Sankarapuram block have complained of severe pain and blurred vision after attending an eye camp organised by a private hospital in the panchayat school there on July 28.

Quoting the Panchayat President Subbarayan, Deputy Director of Health (Kallakurichi) Geetha told The Hindu that a private hospital at Perambalur organised the camp. After screening the patients it selected 45 persons for cataract surgery.

On July 29 they were taken to the Perambalur hospital and operated upon. On return to Kaduvanur they complained of severe pain and blurred vision. When the patients approached the hospital, its management offered to take them to headquarters hospital at Tiruchi.— Special Correspondent
