Districts teams emerge winners

CHENNAI: Both the City versus Districts matches in the TNCA round robin U-19 tournament ended in draws on Saturday. However by virtue of the first innings lead, Districts II emerged winner over City IV and Districts I over City II.

The scores: Districts II 277 for six in 90 overs and 66 for two in 18 overs (Soham Desdai 33 not out) drew with City IV 158 in 55.3 overs (Garry Antony Dumenil 46, S. Karthik 40, Vivek Athinam three for 21) at Vivekananda. Districts II won on first innings lead. Points: Districts II: 5, City IV: 2; Districts I 286 for eight in 90 overs (J. Nijin 42 not out, D. Giripal three for 66) drew with City II 116 in 42.3 overs (A.Nirmal Raj 26, R.D. Ashwin Kumar 29, Kiran Prasath five for 38) and 127 for five in 41 overs (L.Suryapprakash 60 not out) at SRMC. District I won on first innings lead. Points: District I: 5, City II: 2
