To decide future course of action at a meet on Monday

SANGAREDDY: The Communist Party of India (CPI) Medak committee which launched “Bhoo poratam” in all the municipal areas of Medak district except Patancheru has decided to determine the next phase of the agitation based on the aspirations of the people.
Speaking to The Hindu here o Sunday the district general secretary of the party Chukka Ramulu said that the party would meet on Monday to review the progress and decide on the future course of action. The rural phase of the programme has been started only on Saturday.
Corrective measures
The party has alleged that the administration has failed to implement corrective measures in the areas identified by the party during the first phase undertaken after the Mudigonda police firing incident. Chukka Ramulu pointed out that the presence of large number of homeless during the second phase confirms the non implementation of Koneru Ranga Rao committee’s recommendations.
While the urban poor who encroached upon the government land during the first phase were eventually driven away by the authorities, very few farmers succeeded in taking a crop in the rural areas. In urban areas only the rich and the politically influential persons benefited from the Indiramma housing programme, Ramulu said.
