Rally in support of Chiru held

Staff Reporter

NARSARAOPET/GUNTUR: Supporters of Chiranjeevi, including some prominent NRIs, on Sunday took out a rally on the main thorough fares in the town. Mittapalli Chakravarthy, son of Koteswara Rao, chairman of the Mitapalli Group of Educational Institutions, led the rally, in which about 20 cars, dozens of motorcycles took part.

The rally gave enough indications that the family of Mittapalli, which has been supporting the TDP for many years, has gravitated towards the new political outfit being floated by Chiranjeevi with Mr. Koteswara Rao himself seeking the Narasaraopet parliamentary seat.

Special train

In Guntur, industrialist Modugula Venugopala Reddy, partner in the Ramky Group of Industries, is making efforts to mobilise huge crowds for the meeting to be held at Tirupati on Tuesday by booking two trains, 70 buses and dozens of lorries.

He said that a special train will leave Guntur at 12 a.m. on Monday and would reach at 7.45 a.m. the following day.
