HUBLI: The Akhila Karnataka Rajya Raste Saarige Naukarara Mahamandala has served an ultimatum all the managing directors of the four State road transport corporations to meets its demands before September 1. In a press release issued here, president of the mahamandala K.S. Sharma has said that if the demands were not met before September 1, it would be forced to resort to “direct action”. Executive committee of the federation which met in Bangalore recently decided to reject any unilateral revision of wages of the transport corporation employees and demanded a negotiated settlement with the federation by way of industrial truce. RightsThe executive committee decided to seek restoration of democratic and trade union rights of the employees and conduct elections to select the “sole bargaining agent” on behalf of the employees of the four corporations. Mr. Sharma has said that the last elections to the employees’ associations of the corporations were held 16 years ago and yet the management was reluctant to conduct elections.
