Convert problems into opportunities, students told

A total of 291 students received degrees on the graduation day of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College


PUDUCHERRY: The fourth Graduation Day of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College was conducted on August 23. A total of 291 students received their degrees under B.Tech and MCA courses on the occasion.

According to a press release, Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Open University M.S. Palanichamy distributed the medals and degree certificates to the students. He encouraged the students to work with full involvement, convert the problems into opportunities and concentrate on skill-oriented education.

Managing Director of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College M. Dhanasekaran urged the graduates to update their knowledge and carry out their jobs with involvement. Founder and Chairman of SMVE Trust N. Kesavan and Principal of the college, V.S.K. Venkatalachalapathy spoke on the occasion.

Of the 291 students who received their degree certificates, 57 were from MCA, 52 from Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 60 from Electronics and Communication Engineering, 59 from Computer Science Engineering, 42 from Information Technology and 21 from ICE. Out of this, 70 students were awarded degree with first class distinction and 213 students secured first class, the release added.

Meanwhile, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital celebrated its college day on August 22.

Speaking on the occasion, Director, Directorate of Culture and Cultural Relations of Pondicherry University A. Balasubramanian said it was important for medical colleges recognised by the university to adopt villages and provide medical help for the people.

Prizes were given to students who secured top ranks in the university level on the occasion. Students who won in various sports events were also awarded prizes, added the release.

Vice Chairman of Sri Manakular Vinayagar Group of Institutions V. Sugumaran, Director of the college D. Rajagovindan and Medical Superintendent of the college M. Amaranathan were present on the occasion.
