Pricol resumes production

Talks between the management and trade unions on the partial lock out

end amicably


COIMBATORE: Production resumed at Plant I of Pricol here on Sunday evening after talks between the management and trade unions on the partial lock out ended amicably.

Meeting

The meeting was held in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner for Labour.

According to a company spokesman, as an outcome of violent incidents reported at the plant on August 19 it had declared partial lock out.

This had affected 170 workers, in three wings of the facility.

Subsequent to the talks on Sunday, it was decided to restrict the partial lock out to 16 workers.

Disciplinary action

The source also said it was decided to initiate disciplinary action against some workers and obtain an undertaking from the other workers of the plant.
