dated August 25, 1958: Heavy rain in Bombay

Four persons were killed and three injured when the rear portion of a four-storey building in Dongri in Central Bombay collapsed on August 24 following heavy rain which the city had been experiencing since last night. For the second time in three months, the city recorded over 100 inches in three months. On receipt of information, the fire brigade came and rescued three people who were buried in the debris. The house collapse was the most serious of a dozen such calls the brigade attended.
