Suresh stars in Namakkal’s victory

TIRUCHI: Suresh Kumar scalped four wickets as Namakkal defeated Dharmapuri by nine runs and booked a place in the quarterfinal of the Tiruchi DCA Golden Jubilee inter-district Twenty20 cricket tournament here on Sunday.

Namakkal 105 in 16.1 overs (R. Vijay two for 22, Manjunath two for 25, Zubair two for 24) bt Dharmapuri 96 in 18.1 overs (Suresh Kumar four for 16, Karthikeyan two for 24).

Salem 109 in 19.2 overs (Dushyanth 29, Thangadurai 28, Sundaramurthy four for 35, Huzefa M. Patel three for 11) lost to Coimbatore 110 for three in 12.5 overs (M. Nataraj 36, Saravanan 27 not out).

Karur 66 in 15.5 overs (Kumaresan three for 14, Sanjeevi Kumar three for 12) lost to Krishnagiri 67 for one in 9.2 overs (Sengodan 35 not out).

Tirunelveli 156 in 19.1 overs (Rajadurai 34, Tilak 34, Ayyanar three for 20, Vinoth Kumar three for 38) bt Dindigul 135 in 18.4 overs (Rajesh Kumar 41, Abdur Rahman 26, Janakiraman three for 21).
