THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Host Thiruvananthapuram made a clean sweep of the titles in the State Cycle Polo championships, which ended at the Mar Ivanios College ground on Sunday. Thiruvananthapuram won all the six titles at stake. Thiruvananthapuram men defeated Ernakulam 8-5 while its women’s team overcame Alappuzha 5-3 to win the titles. Thriuvananthapuram beat Idukki 6-4 to win the junior boys title and defeated Alappuzha 11-3 to win the sub-junior title. The host beat Alappuzha 8-5 to win the junior girls title and it edged out Alappuzha 6-5 to win the sub-junior girls title. The results: Men (final): Thiruvannathapuram bt Ernakulam 8-5. Loser’s final. Alappuzha bt Idukki 6-4. Junior boys (final): Thiruvananthapuram bt Idukki 6-4. Loser’s final: Alappuzha bt Ernakulam 6-5. Sub-junior (final): Thiruvananthapuram bt Alappuzha 11-3. Loser’s final: Ernakulam bt Idukki 6-1. Women (final): Thiruvananthapuram bt Alappuzha 5-3. Loser’s final: Idukki bt Pathanamhitta 7-2. Junior girls (final): Thiruvananthapuram bt Alappuzha 8-5. Loser’s final: Kozhikode bt Pathanamthitta 6-2. Sub-junior (final): Thiruvananthapuram bt Alappuzha 6-5. Loser’s final: Kozhikode bt Wayanad 8-4.
