Sathyabama having a great run

Chennai: Sathyabama University had a string of victories in volleyball, basketball and football in various tournaments in the State in recent times.

The volleyball and basketball teams won the titles in the A. Veegaiah Vandaiyaar Memorial State-level inter-Collegiate at Poondi. The volleyball side defeated Jamal Mohammed College (Tiruchi) 25-23, 25-18, 25-19 in the final. In basketball, it defeated JMC 65-32 in the final.

Another success for its volleyball team came in a State-level inter-collegiate tournament, organised by Mookambigai College of Engineering (Tiruchi). In the four-team final phase league, Sathyabama beat Jamal ‘B’ 25-18, 25-12, 25-16, then D.P. Jain College 25-23, 25-18, 28-26, followed by victory over Jamal ‘A ’ at 25-23, 25-20, 20-25,25-20.

The University’s football and volleyball sides took the honours in the Buck Memorial State-level inter-collegiate tournament. . Sathyabama defeated YMCA 25-21, 25-20 in the volleyball final and YMCA again 10-9 in a tie-breaker in the football final.
