Vigneswaran, Ramkumar qualify for main draw

Pranav Menon reigns

Pranav Menon led from start to finish in the final of the Chennai leg of the Amaron Karting Challenge held here on Sunday, getting to the chequered flag nearly three seconds ahead of second-placed Sameeksha Asher.

On the basis of this result, Pranav, Sameeksha and third-placed Gaurav Matthew have qualified for the Grand Finale, which will be held next January in Bangalore, where they will compete with the podium finishers from the forthcoming Bangalore, Cochin, Goa, Mumbai, Kolhapur and Hyderabad legs of the challenge.

The results: Final: 1. Pranav Menon 04:17.7; 2. Sameeksha Asher 04:20.5; 3. Gaurav Matthew 04:22.0; 4. D. Vinay 04:37.3; 5. D. Akash (9 laps) 04:38.4; Shray Chandra, M. Sumith and Roopan did not finish.

Sathiyan takes trophy

G. Sathiyan (SDAT-Chandra Academy) clinched the men’s title in the BuildCraft Interior 9th State-ranking table tennis tournament here on Sunday.
