Almost 200 participants have registered so far Each team comprises two teachers Bangalore: While quizzes for students are common, Qwiz — the Interschool Teachers’ Quiz, will be held on September 1. Bringing together schoolteachers from Bangalore as well as neighbouring districts, National Hill View Public School, an institution under the National Education Foundation, has begun “Qwiz” in order to celebrate “The Teacher”, at the National Hill View Campus. The format is simple. Each team comprises two teachers and any number of teams may register. ScheduleDivided into two segments — the preliminary round and the final round — the event will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude by 2.00 p.m., with a break in between the two rounds. Hosting this quiz for teachers is Giri “Pickbrain” Balasubramaniam, who heads a popular quiz company and has come to be known for his characteristic brand of quizzing, with his trademark sense of humour and wit. “Pickbrain”, who has hosted several quiz shows across the world, is also the brain behind the Global Awareness Programme. Along with the quiz, the management of National Hill View Public School will honour one teacher who has done an extraordinary job right through the year, by touching the lives of many students. Hoping that Qwiz is a gesture of gratitude more than anything else, Rama Ranganathan, Principal, National Hill View Public School thinks that teachers seldom celebrate themselves. “We can do so only if we move out of our little shells, classrooms, known campuses and learnt subjects,” says Ms. Ranganathan. RegistrationShe says that as of now, close to 200 participants have registered for the quiz, and they expect more participants to join. “We have about 20 to 25 spot registrations as well,” says Ms. Ranganathan, while adding that the school has organised transport for the day, For further details and registration, call 65580067.
