Chennai Corporation drivers honoured

Stalin hands over letters of appointment to 240 persons

Enviable record: Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin presents watch and certificate to a Corporation driver for his 15 years of accident-free service on Sunday. Mayor M. Subramanian is in the picture.

Chennai: Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday honoured Chennai Corporation drivers who had completed 15 years of accident-free service.

Merit certificates

Mr. Stalin presented merit certificates and watches that bore the Corporation’s insignia to 269 drivers.

He also handed over letters of appointment to 240 persons, who had been recruited to the Corporation on compassionate grounds.

Earlier this year, 500 persons were recruited to the Corporation on compassionate grounds.
