Haryana team visits dengue-affected areas

CHANDIGARH: A team of the Haryana Health Department from Chandigarh visited Gurgaon on Monday to take stock of the dengue outbreak in the city and measures to control it.

The team, headed by Senior Regional Director Dr. Amarjit met the Civil Surgeon, Dr. S.S. Dalal, and the District Malaria Officer, Dr. Krishan Kumar, and said that it would conduct surveys in the dengue-affected areas to know the cause of the disease and steps taken by the health authorities to curb its further spread into new areas.

According to Dr. Krishan Kumar, 303 suspected cases of dengue were reported in Gurgaon this season out of which 205 were found suffering from the disease and a majority of them had been cured. However, two patients had died, he added, saying that presently about 32 dengue patients were receiving treatment in various hospitals.
