Panel formed to promote agriculture

Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has set up Haryana Agriculture Development Agency (HADA) under the overall supervision and guidance of its Board of Patrons headed by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

The Ministers for Agriculture, Power and Irrigation and the State Chief Secretary will be the members of the Board of Patrons.

Disclosing this here on Monday, Agriculture Minister H.S. Chatha said the Agency would be an autonomous body and it would have a governing body headed by the Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Agriculture.

Mr. Chatha said the Agency would promote effective implementation of National Food Security Mission, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, State Extension programme and other Central and State-sponsored schemes.

It would also work to improve soil health and identify specific needs of the farming community.
