House surgeons to continue strike

KASARAGOD: The management of Century Dental College, Poinachy, here have reneged on its promise made at a meeting of its representatives and students in the presence of Uduma MLA K.V. Kunhirman on Saturday to provide a stipend of Rs. 2500 a month to house surgeons, say representatives of house surgeons. Hence, the ongoing strike would be strengthened, they said. At a press conference here on Monday, G. Vivek, representative of house surgeons, said the management withdrew its promise on Sunday. The State government should intervene in the issue. — Staff Reporter
