Special Correspondent

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Youth Welfare Board will offer free legal assistance to victims of domestic violence. Chairperson of the Board Girija Surendran and secretary G.Vikraman said on Monday that 36 of the 39 family counselling centres and nine short-stay homes of the board would be converted into service-providing centres for such women .

She said the board had identified women lawyers who would offer services for the scheme at least three days a week. “We have arranged counselling and medical assistance too,” she said.
