Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh government has approved a scheme that provides insurance cover to all government school students at a premium of just Re. 1 per student, for 2008-09. “The students would be insured round the clock throughout the year. The period of insurance has been fixed between 21 August 2008 to 20 August, 2009,” an official release said. The insurance cover is being provided by Cholamandal M.S. General Insurance Company Limited, Indore. As per the insurance cover, Rs 50,100 would be given in case a student is killed in an accident or loses his vision. Same amount would be given to a student who loses both his hands or legs. missing at the time of accident, it said.
