THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State-owned Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC), which owns the largest chain of hotels in the State, is to market 30 hotels in the world tourism market from this October. Till now, the KTDC had been marketing only the eight premium properties under its fold in the domestic and international markets. The official website of the KTDC had details of only these resorts. The KTDC will start marketing nine premium properties, seven mid-market hotels and 14 Tamarind hotels spread across the State, according to KTDC Chairman Cherian Philip. With this the KTDC will become the largest hotel chain in the country, he added. The details of the properties, location etc will be presented to tour operators at the travel marts and road shows. Tariff at premium hotels varies from Rs.4,000 to Rs.20,000. It is below Rs.2,000 in mid-market and premium hotels. The KTDC will also come out with tourism packages to attract tourists, Mr. Philip said. Tourists can make reservations at the KTDC’s central reservation centre at Mascot Square.
