Case registered
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Forest Department has registered a case in connection with the death of a mahout who was trapped under an elephant which fell on the road from a running lorry. The incident took place in the sixth mile area near Neriyamangalam on Sunday evening. The Neriyamangalam Range Officer Jayant Kumar met the owner of the elephant C.B.K. Jabbar directly and took the case. The department has asked two DFOs to find out whether the safety norms were observed while transporting the elephant by lorry.
