Muslim council campaign
Special Correspondent
Thiruvananthapuram: The Muslim Welfare Council has attributed terrorist activities to lack of religious awareness. The State committee of the organisation which met here on Monday felt that a believer with proper awareness of religion could never become a terrorist.
It urged the Central and State governments to conduct a free and fair probe to find out the real forces behind terrorist activities in the country. It also resolved to organise a month-long campaign against communalism and terrorism.
The meeting urged the government to lift load shedding during the Ramzan fasting period from September 1 to 30.
The meeting was inaugurated by council State president M.M. Hussain. J. Tamrukh, general secretary, presided.
