Farmers seek irrigation facility

BANGALORE: A padayatra undertaken by the farmers led by K.M. Kemparaju, Chikmagalur Zilla Panchayat member, seeking irrigation facilities in drought-prone areas in Kadur taluk in the district, reached Bangalore on Monday. Hundreds of farmers, including women, gathered at Chalukya Circle here and appealed to the Government to take immediate steps to meet their demand. The protesters threatened that they would intensify their struggle if immediate action was not taken.
