DEHRA DUN: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, besieged by internal rifts, has suspended former Uttarakhand Minister Lakhi Ram Joshi and two others from the party for levelling charges against senior leaders. Announcing this here on Monday, party spokesman Vishwas Dabar said notices had been issued to several others for indulging in anti-party activities. Mr. Joshi last week had sought the expulsion of former Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshiary from the party. The two others hailing from Naini Tal had levelled charges against Chief Minister B.C. Khanduri and sought his removal. These public statements had only added confusion to the ongoing power struggle between the Chief Minister and the rebels led by Mr Koshiary. Earlier this month, 24 of the 36 BJP MLAs, including four Ministers, led by Mr. Koshiary had sought removal of Mr. Khanduri. However, the party’s top brass had refused to accept their demand.
