CHENNAI: The London-based British Institute of Technology and E-Commerce (BITE) on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Chennai-based Zak Trade Fairs and Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd. to organise World Hi-Tech Forum (WHTF) in the U.K. in October.

Addressing presspersons here, Muhammad Farmer, Principal, BITE, said the institute was organising CEO’s conclave in important cities of India in an effort to attract delegates to the WHTF. The forum was basically a platform for exploring opportunities for business success through innovation and global partnership.

To be held at The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London on October 7 and 8, it would focus on global partnering, creating business opportunities, facilitating business relations, finding a business partner, facilitating collaborations/merger/ acquisitions and the like.

The organisers have also planned to hold WHTF in India in 2009 in New Delhi during which around 50 delegations of entrepreneurs and technocrats from the U.K. are expected to visit the country to explore mutual business possibilities.

Syed Zakir Ahmed, Managing Director, Zak Trade Fairs and Exhibitions, said “It is obvious that India is the focus of world and appropriately BITE has chosen India as the focus country for its maiden World Hi-Tech Forum.

The format has been formulated in such a way giving ample scope for interaction as well as business networking.”

Mr. Zakir was hopeful that the delegates registering to WHTF would find business partners, collaborators and technology partners.

Terry Knibb, Deputy Principal, BITE, said “The focus of 2008 Forum is India, a country which will have population larger than China in the next five years, a country which provides the manpower of the technology world, a country which is investing strongly in technology creation as well as manufacturing and education.”

KPMG, Microsoft and Rollys-Royce are sponsoring the event, which is managed by Zak Trade Fairs and Exhibitions.
