CHENNAI: Parmeshwari Prasad Nirala, Chairman, Railway Passenger Services Committee, Ministry of Railways, inspected the Central Railway Station on Monday.
They inspected the food plaza, retiring rooms, waiting halls, catering/vending machines, book stalls and other miscellaneous stalls, including PCO/ISD/STD booths, a release from Southern Railway said.
The committee would recommend steps to reduce congestion at stations and platforms caused by proliferation of such services and their haphazard installation. N. Swaminathan, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Chennai Division and Manisha Chatterjee, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, accompanied the committee during the inspection.
