Each coach named after one of Chiranjeevi’s films Zealous fans swarm Secunderabad railway station
MEGA SUPPORT: Fans of actor Chiranjeevi throng the Secunderabad railway station on their way to Tirupati on Monday. HYDERABAD: ‘Santoshaandhra Pradesh’, the special train hired by actor Chiranjeevi to transport his fans from Hyderabad to Tirupati was given a colourful send-off at Secunderabad railway station on Monday evening. Christening each coach (save the three earmarked for media) after a popular movie of the actor – like ‘Indra’, ‘Andarivadu’, ‘Tagore’, and ‘Stalin’, enthusiastic young men kept raising slogans hailing Mr. Chiranjeevi’s entry into politics. Behind scheduleZealous fans swarmed the railway station in large numbers to locate the train and enter that since 2 p.m., and the train left the station only at 4.15 p.m., an hour behind schedule. 1,000 fans travelThe 14-coach special train chugged its way through Mahbubnagar, Kurnool, Anantapur, Kadapa and Chittoor districts carrying 1,000 fans. At every station – Shamshabad, Shadnagar, Balanagar, Jadcherla, Mahbubnagar and Gadwal, a motley crowd gathered near the train and waved at those travelling in it. EnthusiasticEnthusiastic youths wanted to clamber on board eager to see the actor, thinking he was also in the same train. As it was a special train, it had to make way for all other scheduled trains en route.
