Visakhapatnam regains title

VISAKHAPATNAM: Host Visakhapatnam regained the inter-District seniors boxing title Boxer in the 55th edition of the championship here on Sunday night.

Lightfly winner S. Ramu was adjudged Best Boxer while P. Amarnath of Nellore, who lost in the featherweight semifinals, was declared as the Best Loser.

Visakhapatnam, which was runner-up behind Medak last year, secured 42 points this time and Rangareddy with 31 points was runner-up.

The results (all finals): Lightfly: S. Ramu (VSP) bt K. Raghuveer (RR). Fly: K. Santosh (RR) bt S. Satish Reddy (VSP). Welter: N.P. Srinivas (VSP) bt G. Naresh Kumar (Chittoor). Middle: V. Naresh (West Godavari) bt S. Suribabu (East Godavari). Lightheavy: Srirama Kumar (VSP) bt K. Harsha (Nalgonda). Heavy: Bharat Singh (Medak) bt Syed Esa Fariz (Mahaboobnagar). Superheavy: R. Narendra Yadav (Hyderabad) bt Satyana Sarat (Mahaboobnagar).
