Directive to officials

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has issued a circular directing officials to strictly comply with the provisions of the Right to Information Act regarding publication of subject index and details of official records. The circular said that the heads of departments should publish functional responsibilities of offices and officers under them and maintain index of official records. Records should be made available to the public in a time-bound manner through computerisation. It warned that disciplinary action would be taken against erring officials.
