NGRI scientist to visit Iceland

HYDERABAD: A scientist of director’s grade of the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), T. Harinarayana, head, magnetotellorics, has been selected to visit Iceland for developing geothermal energy by the External Affairs ministry, as directed by the Prime Minister’s Office.

Deep crust study

A press release issued by NGRI here on Tuesday said he had guided the execution of major projects and investigation by the institute to study the deep crust coveri9ng different geothermal regions. His visit to Iceland will pave the way for development of power projects using geothermal energy, a non-conventional energy source abundantly available in Iceland.
