Britain and West Germany are expected to play a major part in helping India meet its immediate financial obligations, reliable sources said in Washington on August 26. India’s major international creditors met privately this morning at the World Bank for the second day to discuss ways and means of aiding the Asian country in countering its balance of payments problems. The immediate need is for about 350 million dollars between now and the end of the current Indian financial year next March 31.
