Ernakulam, Thrissur post easy wins

KOCHI: Ernakulam and Thrissur scored comfortable wins against Palakkad and Idukki respectively in the Central Zone under-22 inter-District cricket championship here on Tuesday.

There will be no match on Wednesday.

The scores:

Palakkad 53 & 80 in 30 overs (Akhil three for 11, Sreejith four for 38) lost to Ernakulam 269 at St. Paul’s College Ground, Kalamassery. Ernakulam 3 pts, Palakkad 0.

Idukki 95 & 213 all out in 42.4 overs (Sachin Baby 57, Pius K. Joseph 49, Anthaf four for 57) lost to Thrissur 242 & 67 for two (Uvais 54) at BPCL Kochi Refinery Ground, Ambalamugal. Thrissur 3 pts, Idukki 0.

Coaching camp

The Tripunithura Cricket Club will conduct a long-term cricket coaching camp at the Palace Oval from 4 p.m. on September 1.
