Women’s panel team to probe burning incident

NEW DELHI: Taking suo motu cognisance of the burning to death of a woman in an orphanage in Orissa’s Khuntpalli village, the National Commission for Women has set up a three-member committee to inquire into Monday’s incident.

Expressing “deep shock,” the commission said the committee, led by Manju S. Hembrom, would immediately meet officials concerned, investigating agencies and the victim’s family, and submit a report.
