Panel approves DIC proposals

VIZIANAGARAM: The district consultative committee of bankers on Tuesday approved the proposal of General Manager, District Industries Centre, to sanction Rs.13.45crores for setting up 69 units by SCs and STs and also Rs. 40lakhs under ‘Jeeva Kranti’ and Rs. 5.40crores under ‘Pasu Kranti’ schemes for sanctioning 143 and 187 units respectively to BPL families. MP Botcha Jhansi Lakshmi, who participated in the meeting, asked bankers to cooperate in the implementation of government welfare schemes. She said minor objections, if any, in the sanctioning of bridge loans, farm credits etc could be rectified with the consent of officials concerned.
Joint Collector B. Ramaiah asked the bankers to extend crop loans to farmers, who were benefited by the loan waiver scheme.
He said some 1.04 lakh farmers received the benefit. Durga Prasad Sarma, NABARD AGM, B.G.K. Acharyulu, Lead Bank Manager and officials were present.

Superintendent of Police Vikram Singh Mann has said some of the candidates, who were provisionally selected in the police constables’ recruitment test and have failed to submit caste certificates in time, can now submit the same during working hours at the special counter opened at the District Police Office as the last date has been extended up to September 5
