Sub-Collectors of Berhampur, Chatrapur and Bhanjanagar asked to prepare report regarding the needs of their areas. BERHAMPUR: Efforts are on to open seven new tehsil offices of the revenue department in Ganjam district during current financial year. It may be noted that recently the State Government had taken a decision to open tehsil offices in every block for proper management of revenue affairs. Ganjam district now has 15 tehsil offices and the one at Shergarh is the most recent one. It may be noted that Ganjam happens to be largest district as per the population with 22 blocks. The seven new tehsil offices are to be opened at Ganjam, Polasara, Kavisuryanagar of Chatrapur subdivision, Dharakote, Belaguntha, Jagannathprasad of Bhanjanagar subdivision and Sanakhemundi of Berhampur subdivision. In recent past the people of Kavisuryanagar had demonstrated against the delay in the establishment of tehsil office at the spot. The Sub-Collectors posted in Berhampur, Chatrapur and Bhanjanagar subdivisions have been directed to prepare detailed report regarding the needs for the establishment of the new tehsil offices of their area. They would also demarcate the revenue circles to be included under the new tehsils. According to sources, there would be efforts to digitalize the data storage process at these new teshil offices from the very beginning.
