Schemes reviewed at Collectors’ meet

MADURAI: District Collectors from southern region met here on Tuesday to review ongoing development works and implementation of welfare schemes.

Bedi presides

Rural Development Director Gagandeep Singh Bedi presided over the meeting in which Tamil Nadu Women Development Corporation Managing Director N. Muruganandam, Tsunami Projects Officer V. Thangavelu and nine Collectors -- S. S. Jawahar (Madurai), R. Vasuki (Dindigul), S. J. Chiru (Theni), V. Chandrasekaran (Virudhunagar), Pankaj Kumar Bansal (Sivaganga), R. Kirlosh Kumar (Ramanathapuram), G. Prakash (Tirunelveli), R. Palaniandi (Tuticorin) and Jothi Nirmala (Kanyakumari) -- participated.

The officials discussed the implementation of schemes like NREGS, Anaithu Peruratchi Anna Marumalarchi Thittam, NABARD projects and Indira Awaas Yojana and works taken up under MP’s Local Area Development fund.
